Ross Johnson

Ross started coaching volleyball as a volunteer assistant coach at Northwest University 20 years ago in 1989.  After 4 years as an assistant he took over as head coach and served from 1993-1997. In 1999 Ross was hired at Redmond to teach and coach volleyball.  In 2003 the Mustangs won their second ever Kingco Championship and a trip to the state tournament.  In 2004 the Mustangs repeated a trip to state winning the district championship.  In 2006 Redmond went to state for the 3rd time in 4 years finishing 3rd, the highest ever placing for a Kingco 4A team.  Ross was named as the Seattle Times all area volleyball coach of the year following the 2006 season.  After 2006 Ross retired from coaching but when the job opened up was asked to return which he gladly did in 2008. This is Ross's 10th season as the Mustangs head coach.  Ross is married to Holly who teaches English at Monroe HS and has 2 daughters - Josie 9 and Ally 4.
